THE BLOOM OF YULE

Reefs of Turkey Tail alit into their fertile season, turning yesteryear's wood into tomorrow's habitat.
Even as Solstice drew nigh, the moss celebrated a sprint of clear sunlight above freezing, taking full advantage to brighten the landscape with a fresh flush of photosynthesis as the calendar passed wintertide.

Early that morning, the sky opened to drop icy winter , sleet and fog, yet the torrent was insufficient to dull bright impetus of life reaching toward sunshine.

The giants of the forest had moved on, leaving their wooden bones to nourish the mushrooms and beetles. Yet this harvest of wood would see another flush of green, mosses bolting gametangia skyward to chance a winter germination.
